Privacy policy

Who I am

This site is run by Nathan Carroll. I am the data controller for any personal data you share through it. If you have any questions about this policy or about your data, email hello@nathancarroll.co.uk.

What I collect

When you use the contact form, I collect the name, email address, company, enquiry type, and message you choose to provide.

Like most websites, my hosting provider also automatically logs basic technical information, such as your IP address and browser type, for security and reliability.

Why I collect it

I use the details you submit only to respond to your enquiry and, where relevant, to discuss working together. The legal basis is my legitimate interest in replying to people who get in touch, and in taking steps at your request before any potential agreement.

Who processes it

Contact form submissions are processed by Web3Forms, which delivers them to my inbox.

The site is hosted on Vercel, which processes technical and server log data, and provides the privacy-friendly analytics described below.

Enquiry emails are then received and stored in my email provider's inbox.

I do not sell your data, and I do not share it for marketing.

Cookies and analytics

This site uses Vercel Web Analytics and Vercel Speed Insights to understand how the site is used and how well it performs. Both are privacy-friendly: they do not use cookies, they do not track you across other websites, and they collect aggregated, anonymised data rather than identifying you personally.

The contact form also includes a hidden anti-spam field, which is not a cookie and does not track you.

How long I keep it

I keep enquiry correspondence for as long as I need it to deal with your enquiry and any resulting work, plus a reasonable period afterwards for business records. You can ask me to delete it sooner at any time.

Your rights

Under UK data protection law you have the right to access your data, correct it, ask me to delete it, restrict or object to how I use it, and ask for a copy in a portable format.

To exercise any of these, email hello@nathancarroll.co.uk and I will respond as quickly as I can.

Complaints

If you are unhappy with how I have handled your data, you can complain to the UK's Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk.

Changes to this policy

I may update this policy from time to time. The date at the top shows when it was last changed.
